Stone Accent Walls Bring Interest to the Home

Nov 26, 2019 |
Stone Accent Walls

Natural stone is a great way to bring color, texture, and detail to a room. It can be used for more than just countertops. In fact, stone accent walls are an exciting trend in home design.

Stone can be added to any wall in your home to make a statement. They can be made of either natural or manufactured stone depending on the homeowners preference and budget

Bathrooms are the most obvious and common place to create a stone accent wall. The combination of stone and water creates a relaxing spa like feel. It’s also a great way to bring interest to half baths or guest baths. The subtle texture and sparkle of stone adds depth and interest to any space, but can shine particularly well in a modern bathroom design.

After bathrooms, the next most common application for stone accent walls is on the exterior of the home. After all, stone has been used for centuries to create human dwellings. It gives a sense of strength and stability to the look of a home. Depending on the kind of stone chosen it can look very regal and sophisticated or rustic and warm. Pairing stone with other types of siding can create interest that really sets the home apart from its neighbors.

These days we are seeing even more creative ways to use stone accent walls. Stone can be used to frame out doorways, wrap dividing walls, build up backsplashes, or bring a sense of romance to a wine cellar.
