You’ve been to the showroom, looked at dozens of gorgeous materials and designs, and picked the perfect one for your home. Now it’s time to actually install it! While we’re fabricating your choice to the exact specifications of your project, there are a few things you can do to get ready for installation.
Leave Installation to the Professionals
YouTube is a great place to learn how to do a number of home improvement projects, but this isn’t one of them. Installers have special tools and the experience needed to install granite safely. It takes a team to make sure that your countertop installation is done correctly. If you do it yourself, you may have issues in the future.
Measure, Measure, Measure.
We want to make sure everything fits perfectly. Precise measurements are essential to a smooth installation. Not only do the granite slabs need to be the perfect length and width to cover your cabinets, but they also need to offer enough room for your sinks or other appliances that might affect the surface area of the countertops. You can help by supplying accurate schematics or scheduling a time to get your current counters measured.
Clear the Area
Slabs are heavy! Make sure you have a clear path from the door to the project space. Remove fragile items and layout something to protect the floor if necessary. Keep children and pets a safe distance away. Not only are installers working with tools and heavy materials, but they will be going in and out of the home several times. They don’t want to be responsible for your cat escaping down the street!
